Best young goalkeepers in FC 27 career mode

A young goalkeeper is the slowest wonderkid to pay off and often the best value. Keepers rarely reach the high 70s by 19, so even the best prospects on this list need a few seasons before they can take the number one shirt at a big club. The upside is that few managers want them: a goalkeeper with 85 potential usually costs far less than an outfield player with the same ceiling.

Look at reflexes, diving and positioning before height, and do not be put off by a low overall at 18 or 19. Keepers keep improving for longer than outfield players, so a 21-year-old here can still have five or six seasons of growth ahead of him.

The hard part is minutes, because you only field one goalkeeper. Give your prospect the cup games, or loan him to a club where he starts every week, and bring him back once his overall is within a few points of your first choice.

This list holds 30 players, 16 of them with potential 80 or more, and their average age is 20. Guillaume Restes (Toulouse) has the highest ceiling at 86. Lucca Brughmans has the most room to grow: 61 now, 82 potential.
