In career mode a player's price follows his current overall far more than his potential. That gap is what this list is made of: teenagers rated in the 60s whose potential already reads 80 or more, at a fraction of what a finished wonderkid costs. On a small budget they are how you build a squad that is worth a fortune three seasons later.

The values are our estimate of what FC 27 will ask, worked out from overall, age, position and potential, so treat them as a guide rather than a quote. The club still has to agree to sell: offer a little over the value, try a player swap if they hold out, and remember that wages come out of your budget too.

Cheap prospects need patience. Most will not be ready for your first eleven for two or three seasons, so plan where their minutes come from, whether that is the cups, the bench or a loan, and track their overall every season so you know which ones to keep and which to sell on at a profit.

This list holds 40 players, all of them with potential 80 or more, and their average age is 19.7. Jorthy Mokio (Ajax) has the highest ceiling at 89. Semm Renders has the most room to grow: 62 now, 84 potential.
