Privacy Policy

Who we are

careermode.xyz is run as an independent project ("we" in this policy), and we are the data controller for the personal data described below. The best way to reach us is through our Discord server: https://discord.gg/FCgz9BEsuq

What we collect

• Account data — when you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects your email address and, if you sign in with a social account, the name and avatar that provider shares.
• Game data — everything you enter to track a save: careers, squads, players, transfers, results, seasons and trophies.
• Images — screenshots or photos you attach to a save are compressed in your browser and stored in our database alongside your save.
• Payment data — Pro subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store them. We only keep your subscription status.
• Usage analytics — we use PostHog to understand how the app is used: pages visited, features used, browser and device type. While you are signed in this is linked to your account ID.
• Cookies and local storage — session cookies that keep you signed in (Clerk), a language cookie, a random device identifier used to prevent abuse, your theme preference in local storage, and PostHog analytics cookies.

How we use your data

• To run the tracker and keep your saves in sync across your devices.
• To process your subscription and unlock Pro features.
• To send a small number of product emails (welcome, tips, inactivity check-ins). Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
• To improve the product using aggregate usage analytics.
• To prevent abuse of the service.

We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertisers.

Services we rely on

These providers process data on our behalf, only to provide their service to us:

• Clerk — sign-in and account management
• Stripe — subscription payments
• Neon — database hosting
• Vercel — application hosting
• PostHog — product analytics
• Resend — sending our emails

What is public

Your saves are private by default. If you choose to share a season to the Community page, that season report — club, results, player names and any image you include — becomes publicly visible. You can stop sharing it at any time, which removes it from the public page.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. Deleting a career permanently deletes everything in it, including images.

To delete your whole account and all data linked to it, ask us on Discord (https://discord.gg/FCgz9BEsuq) and we will remove it within 30 days. If you unsubscribe from emails we keep your address on a suppression list so we never email you again.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, and to restrict or object to how we process it — just ask us on Discord (https://discord.gg/FCgz9BEsuq). If you are in the EU/EEA you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Career Mode is not directed at children under 13. If you are under 13 — or under the minimum age for online services in your country — please do not create an account.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will update the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, let you know in the app or by email.
