Full-back is where a career mode budget stretches furthest. Good young LBs and RBs are rarer than wingers, yet the market prices them lower, so a full-back with 85 potential is often the cheapest way to add a future star to your squad.

A modern full-back in FC 27 needs pace and stamina first, then crossing and defending. If your system uses wing-backs, look at the attacking numbers; if you want a back four that holds its shape, favour defensive awareness and standing tackle.

When this list runs thin there is another route: a quick young winger with high potential can be retrained at full-back through a development plan. Whichever way you go, note his overall every season so you notice early if he stalls.
